ISCS vs ICCS

21st aPRIL 2019, SAIGON CRICKET GROUND

ICCS won the toss and opted to bowl on a warm afternoon. Disciplined bowling attack led by Tanvir kept the ISCS openers Rubal and Pratap silent during the power play. End of power play the batsmen had switched gears and started counter attacking which was ominous signs for the bowling unit. With positive intent from both the batsmen, ISCS were 66/0 during drinks. Post drinks with wickets in hand ISCS were making most use of it with Rubal scoring a quick-fire 59(38) and an opening wicket partnership of 101. Pratap 68*(58) on the other end laid anchor ensuring to play through the entire innings with good support from Shivam 18(10), Rahul 13(8) and Zahoor 9*(6) putting up a winning total of 179/3. Harsh 4 overs 31/2 had bowled well.

ICCS had a setback right away during the second innings with the opener dismissed early. Tanvir and Avik tried to battle it out against a stupendous spell by Koti (4 overs 33/3). Tanvir’s dismissal with a well-executed plan and Avik out bowled in the very next over of Yadhav got ICCS in deep trouble. Wickets were tumbling at regular intervals. Harsha 40(40) took it deep with decent partnerships along with Harsh 28(17) and Govind 25(21) but were short of target as they were all out for 159.

MOM – Shared among Pratap and Rubal.

Sincere condolences to the people of Srilanka affected by the Bomb blasts.
